2009 TEAMProcure/TaekwondoBahamas Fire Engine Pull



We invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Taekwondo Bahamas/TEAMProcure Fire Engine Pull. Your participation and fundraising will help support Taekwondo Bahamas’s mission of providing sports training and competitions for Bahamian Taekwondo athletes. This information sheet should answer your basic questions about the event and assist you in organizing your teams.

WHAT IS THIS EVENT? Teams from the community, business and public agencies compete against each other to see who can pull a REAL fire truck 30 feet the fastest within 5 minutes. The engine is donated by the Fire Department of the Royal Bahamas Police Force with a total weight of 11 tons. It will be pulled by a rope attached to the front tow hooks. To compete/register; each team must raise a total of $600.00. To get the team going, each team must pay a $25 registration fee plus $25 in pledges and submit it along with their registration form and waiver.

PRIZES & GLORY: Bragging Rights and Trophies will be given for:
· The Fastest Pull time
· Fire Engine Pull with the lowest combined team weight
· The Team with the Most Money Raised
· Showmanship: Team with the best costume, theme, or creative idea

WHO CAN BE ON ATEAM? Anyone! Businesses, schools, families, groups, organizations. Each team is made up of no more than /no less than 12 people. These people can be of any age, gender and background.

HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK? Each team must sign in by 11:30am on Saturday April 13, 2009 at the QE Sports center at the Carnival site. At noon teams will compete in order, pulling the fire engine. Don’t forget your theme music and costumes for the Showmanship Competition. Each team will get two pulls with the swiftest one winning. This unique family event will also host some exciting events with an auto extrication, fire safety demos, food court, music and a Junior Fireman Challenge for the kids.

REMEMBER:
All team members must sign a waiver of liability.

You must confirm your team’s participation by April 8th.

All team members must submit a signed original of their Registration Form to event organizers prior to participating in the Engine Pull.
